The Nigerian Air Force has taken a significant step towards enhancing the welfare and operational readiness of its personnel. On Saturday, February 15, 2024, the Nigerian Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, commissioned nine renovated blocks at the Kano Air Force Base service group.
The renovated blocks, aimed at accommodating military officers, airmen, airwomen, and personnel across various ranks, are expected to boost morale and ensure a high standard of living for members of the armed forces. The project is part of the Federal Government's efforts to expand military infrastructure, with plans for additional renovations of the remaining barracks blocks.
Air Marshal Abubakar commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his contribution to security welfare and reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Nigerian Air Force personnel. The Chief of Air Staff assured that the Nigerian Air Force will continue to support and enhance the development of its security personnel.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Commander of the 455 Base Service Group, Group Captain Mustapha Sulaiman, Bukavu Barrack Kano Commander Brig. General M A Tukur, and Commissioner of Police Kano Command Salman Dogo.
Flying Lieutenant Sunusi Momoh, one of the beneficiaries of the renovated blocks, praised the service chiefs for their efforts in providing modern accommodations, which will enhance the performance of Air Men and Air Women.
