Preparations are complete for the inaugural Gwagwaren Katsina Peace and Unity Football Competition, scheduled to take place in the Funtua Zone. Abubakar Sani, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee and Chairman of Dikko Radda Door to Door Youths and Sports Mobilization Awareness, announced the tournament's readiness ahead of the opening ceremony.
The competition, sponsored by Alh Abdullahi Albasu, will feature 64 local football clubs from the Funtua senatorial zone. The winners will receive a cash prize of 5 million naira, while the second and third-place teams will receive 3 million naira and 2 million naira, respectively. Additionally, all participating teams will receive 50,000 naira and two footballs each.
The opening match between Super Tigers and Tiger Boys will kick off on Friday, December 6th, at 3:00 pm at the Funtua Township Grounds.
