The Kano state-based team, Barau Football Club, has donated new football jerseys to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano State club. In a statement released by Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, Barau FC Media Officer, the jersey was presented to the NDLEA on Thursday 25th July 2024 in Kano by the Chairman of Barau FC, Alhaji Ibrahim Shitu Chanji.
During the presentation, Chanji reiterated that the team will continue to contribute to sports activities and promote good relations between clubs and the agency. He described the jersey as "unique, smart, and beautiful" and emphasized that the Kano-based team was ready to distribute and support Kano clubs' football materials.
Receiving the jersey, the Kano state NDLEA commandant, Abubakar Idris Ahmad, expressed his gratitude and stated that the gesture aimed to prepare the team for training and matches in Kano state and across the country. He thanked the Barau football club chairman for the gesture and assured that the agency would support the club's activities at all times.
In a related development, Barau FC chairman Ibrahim Shitu Chanji received his letter of award as NDLEA's Kano Peace Ambassador of War Against Drug Abuse. Last week, NDLEA Kano Commandant Abubakar Idris Ahmad honored Barau FC Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Shitu Chanji as Peace Ambassador of War Against Drug Abuse. The ceremony was attended by team officials, including Director Administration Engr Bala Bawa, Marketing Manager Abbakar Saddiq, Technical Consultant Jabir Hassan, Secretary Umar Lawan Yusuf, and Welfare Officer Ismail Mamuda, among others.
