Wikki Tourists FC has announced the appointment of Abdul Maikaba as their substantive coach for the 2024/25 Nigeria National League season. This development comes after thorough deliberations by the club's management.
In a phone conversation with SportsZone.ng, Coach Maikaba confirmed his appointment, expressing his gratitude for the confidence placed in him by the club management. He acknowledged the enormity of the task ahead, stating that it is a big and challenging one. Maikaba appealed for maximum support from stakeholders, just as they did during his first stint with the club, which saw Wikki Tourists FC qualify for African Continental spots.
Usman Baba, the coordinator of Wikki Tourists, explained that Maikaba's appointment was an obvious choice due to his qualities, which align with the club's ambitions to return to the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). Baba praised Maikaba's track record and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the team back to the top flight.
The official unveiling of Coach Maikaba is scheduled for Thursday, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Wikki Tourists FC's quest for NPFL promotion. With Maikaba at the helm, the club is poised to make a strong push for a return to the top tier of Nigerian football.
Alhamdu Lillahi. Zabin Allah shine zabi. Allah Yama jagora my brother.
