Barau FC, the newly promoted Nigerian National League (NNL) team, has appointed Abubakar Muhammad Jibrin (Abubakar Sadiq) as their Marketing Manager. Sadiq, a seasoned sports journalist, Vice Chairman Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kano State Chapter, and head of sports desk at Guarantee Radio, is tasked with driving revenue growth, securing corporate endorsements, and exploring new revenue generation opportunities for the club.
According to a statement issued by Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, Barau FC's Media Officer, Sadiq's appointment is aimed at enhancing the team's marketing strategy and fostering regular interaction with executives and administrators in Nigeria and abroad.
In a related development, Barau FC is set to export two of its talented players to foreign clubs. The players, one from midfield and one from the attacking side, were spotted by foreign scouts during the team's match against Clever Warriors last month in Abuja.
Barau FC's promotion to the NNL was sealed after their victory against Yoca Crocodiles of Kaduna state via penalty shootout on Sunday. With Sadiq's appointment and the potential export of its players, the team is poised for greater success in the upcoming season.
